What does the programme look like in action?
Running from May 2025 to December 2025, the programme connects 26 mentees with 22 mentors, with the aim of fostering career development opportunities and sharing experiences. Pairs are going to have at least six mentoring sessions in this timeframe, working to achieve the mentee’s goals. To support this process, the regional Talent & Development team will also provide two mentoring labs for both mentees and mentor group.
Each mentorship is unique, creating a space for meaningful exchange – encouraging mentees to reflect deeply, think boldly and drive their personal growth process. By sharing experience and perspective, mentors empower mentees to sharpen their business insight and progress on their leadership journey.
The Europe and Africa Mentoring Programme was launched for the first time last year and proved to be a strong success, achieving an average satisfaction rating of 4.6 out of 5, with 96% of participants saying it met or exceeded their expectations. Participants said that the programme had helped them to become more self-aware, broaden their mindset, recognise the value of feedback and strengthen their leadership skills. The programme also revealed the depth of expertise held collectively by Inchcape and offered valuable insights into the realities of different markets across the region.
Here is what Inchcapers have to say about the programme:
“There’s a real sense of positive momentum across our mentoring community. As we connect and collaborate, people are starting to recognise the depth of our collective knowledge – and the incredible potential there is in this organisation when it comes to mutual support, common problem solving and sharing best practices from market to market. That’s the true value in this programme and I look forward to seeing its results.”
Mentor
“For me, mentoring is about paying it forward. Throughout my career, I’ve had people who took the time to guide me, and I feel privileged to now be able to do the same for others. At Inchcape, I’m constantly impressed by the potential of our emerging talent; It’s incredibly fulfilling to build those one-on-one connections and watch someone grow into their strengths, as they develop into the next generation of leaders.”
Mentee
“I chose to join the mentoring programme to grow both personally and professionally by learning from experienced leaders. I believe this journey will help me gain new perspectives, build valuable connections and contribute more effectively to our organisation.”
Looking ahead
This commitment to continuous learning and doing our best work is central to how we grow at Inchcape. Through opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues and taking on new challenges, our people are supported to maximise their potential and step into what’s next.
